Performance Artists

Lindsey Stirling- Lindsey Stirling is an American violinist, dancer, performance artist, and composer. She presents choreographed violin performances, both live and in music videos found on her YouTube channel, Lindsey Stirling, which she introduced in 2007. Stirling performs a variety of music styles, from classical to pop and hip-hop to electronic dance music. Aside from original work, her discography contains covers of songs by other musicians and various soundtracks. So she uses more traditional sense of technology with her own use of an instrument which I found pretty cool.
Peaches- Merrill Beth Nisker, better known by her stage name Peaches, is a Canadian electronic musician and performance artist who lives in Berlin, Germany. Her songs are noted for disregarding traditional gender norms, and for their use of lyrics. She plays her own instruments for her songs, programs her own electronic beats, and produces her own albums. Her songs have been featured in movies such as Mean Girls, Waiting..., Jackass Number Two, My Little Eye, Drive Angry, and Lost in Translation. So she really takes advantage of the technology she is able to use for her songs.
Miranda July- Miranda Jennifer July is an American film director, screenwriter, actor, author and artist. Her body of work includes film, fiction, monologue, digital media presentations, and live performance art. She wrote, directed and starred in the films Me and You and Everyone We Know and The Future. So she her use of technology comes more focused on the film industry and she incorporates that in her work.

  1. Lindsey Stirling is amazing! My wife turned me on to her stuff a couple years ago. She's a total package kind of artist, combining music, dance, video, etc. I would love to see her live! I'm not familiar with Peaches... I'll definitely have to check her out!
