Opt Illusion Hands

Image
This is my Xerox project, it's called "Life". I choose to fashion my hands in this type of optical illusion in a spiral because it symbolizes my life. How there are many feelings and emotions can be felt through my day and how they can change. This is represented through the position my hands are in. The open hand kinda of meaning like welcoming and happy, the peace sign as content, and the scrunched up one as struggle or challenge. I thought it looked really cool in the end with the use of different shades of black and white. The fingers in the middle I thought just looked cool I didn't have a specific meaning for them but as I'm looking at it now it kind of looks like a compass in the hand or something. I added the light in the second picture to give it a cool filter.

ASll Art

This website was surprisingly interesting. At first when I read what ASII art is it made me think back in grade school when everyone used to try to make little characters or faces to send to each other. The ones on this site are all types of styles though. Some are extremely simple while others are so detailed and I could imagine they take a while to create. I think it's really cool that the creator just allows people to just copy the designs to their clip board and use them anywhere they want. They literally have so many categories to go through as well as a couple tutorials to be able to create yourself.                )              (  _ ___________ ) [_[___________#   jgs Some of the art pieces I liked when exploring was the category for Egyptian there were a lot of cool designs there. I also really enjoyed all the dragon ones like this one I posted at the bottom. There were also so many animal options so of course I had to go to dogs first.  There was a really cute huski

Grid Assignment

Image
This is my grid art It says "Real Eyes, Realize, Real Lies" which as you say it can see all sound so similar it's as if your saying one while you say the other. I used more white on the gradient effect towards the bottom to symbolize white lies. I used paint and pieces of paper I hand cut to act as individual pixels. I think the end result turned out pretty decent, I just really like using paints so it was nice to be able to use whatever I wanted.

Flipbook

This is my flip book animation.

Camera Obscura

Image
These were my results for my own created camera obscura, originally being used by Abelardo Morell. I used my roommates empty room and just used black trash bags to block out the light.  Once I cut the hole in the wall I was surprised that although more subtle than I expected the images were projected on the walls. It was defiantly easier to see the images through the camera on my phone.  This is the view that was projected, outside my building, other buildings, cars, parking lot.   I really liked the end result I wish I could of kept it up to look at at other times of the day but I had to take it down. I would defiantly try it again though at other locations, it was so much simpler than I thought and really surprised me how technology works like that .

Netflix and what's to come

Netflix             The 21st century technology that I chose is Netflix. Netflix is a movie streaming site that is used by millions to stream their favorite movies, tv shows, and documentaries. It has gotten increasingly popular in the last couple of years with users from all types of demographics old or young. It was first launched in April 1998 where it started the use of mail order DVD subscriptions, DVD rentals that would be mailed to your house and when you were done watching the movie you would mail it back. I remember receiving these DVDs all the time when I was little, we used to order new movies we wanted to see and just send them back easy, it was simple yet a lot more effort than what we do now just to tune into a new movie or show. Netflix first started its online streaming in 2007, where you were able to log into your own account and see everything they have to offer in their library. This was a fairly new concept back then, many other new technologies were surfacin
